Having the opportunity to learn a new language during our diploma years was another highlight of our time there. At first, I was unsure of which language I needed to learn in order to succeed. Then I contacted my mother to hear her suggestions/advice, and I promptly registered for the Japanese Language course as she suggested, before the class reached its maximum capacity of students. It was an honour for me to study Japanese. We had a great time with our Sensei and everyone enjoyed themselves. He is Japanese and currently resides in Malaysia, where he works as a language instructor for university students.
We had a great time creating our own AR video, which was entirely in Japanese. My introduction to the AR began with this informational resource. Our sensei gave us a choice to either submit the video and at the same time register for the AR competition handled by Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur or vise versa. We committed to do so with no expectations of receiving anything in return. We received an email out of the blue informing us that our group had advanced to the semi-finals. There were various standards to meet in order to make it into the top three places. Unfortunately, we are unable to meet the standards due to a variety of factors. It doesn't matter. We were overjoyed and pleased to have been chosen as the university's representation in that contest, and to have finished in seventh place overall.
