Salam and greetings all!
This week we had a synchronous class with Dr. Fariza. Our class began with brief explanations on the individual and group tasks: creating a poster and multimedia (video). After Dr. Fariza explained those tasks in detail, she continued the class by giving a lecture about Principles of Design which focused on the CASPER technique. If you thought about that cute little ghost named Casper, we're the same boat as I did too. But, in this context, CASPER is an acronym of design principles.
The Principles are ideas for organizing or arranging the structural aspects of a design. Principles are guidelines and fundamental concepts for those working in the field related to multimedia or in designing something. The lecture assisted me in developing an explicit knowledge of the many design features. Aside from that, it would aid me in creating important and intriguing materials/graphics. Several factors must be addressed for the information to be presented and understood by the readers with minimal effort. That's all from me. Thanks a bunch and have a nice day! -nurul

Salam and greetings all!
In today's lesson, we are given space and time to discuss our AR work with our group members. We were instructed to plan and select a topic for this assignment. Dr. Fariza also advised that we utilize the Coggle to help us because the topic has to be divided into ten subtopics. For my group, we consisted of four members. We agreed to select one of the grade 4 English topics. It took us a long time to decide on the subtopics since we needed to ensure that the chosen ones were appropriate and easy for the pupils to understand. Each member has their duties and parts that have been segregated to make the work more structured. That's all from me. Thanks a bunch and have a nice day! -nurul Salam and greetings all!
We had a synchronous class for this week. We were introduced about Learning Theories and Instructional Design: TPACK Model (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Framework). There are three major learning theories: Behaviourism, Cognitivism and Constructivism. Behaviorism is a learning paradigm that focuses on changes in people's behaviors—changes in what they say or do. In the classroom, behaviourism helps establish connections between student acts and their immediate precursors and repercussions. It is less beneficial for understanding changes in pupils' thinking; we need a more cognitive (or thinking-oriented) explanation. While not a critique of the approach, it does highlight its unique strength or source of utility, which is to highlight observable links between acts, precursors and effects. Behaviorists have their own names for these interactions. They also rely on two primary behavioural learning representations or models: respondent (or “classical”) conditioning and operant conditioning. Essentially, cognitivism is a learning theory that focuses on how the mind processes information. It employs the mind like a computer. Thus, cognitivism sees learning as internal mental processes rather than external behaviour. It is based on Bloom's taxonomy of learning objectives (Bloom et al., 1956), which are related to the development of different kinds of learning skills, or methods. Psychological constructivism holds that people learn by mentally arranging new information or experiences. The organisation occurs partly by linking new experiences to previously acquired knowledge. The other major psychological paradigm, constructivism, discusses how people gain knowledge by actively participating with their experiences. It stresses the learners' particular responses to experience, including assimilation and adaptation. Proceed to the following topic, Instructional Design (ID). The systematic design, development, and implementation of efficient and effective instructional solutions with the purpose of improving learning and performance is referred to as instructional design. Simply put, instructional design is a consistent style of thinking and performing in order to create high-quality training. Morisson-Ross-Kemp, ASSURE, ID system, and Dick and Carey are the four ID models. These models can be used in conjunction with the TPACK. TPACK, a technology integration framework that focuses on technological knowledge (TK), pedagogical knowledge (PK), and content knowledge (CK), provides a fruitful solution to many of the difficulties that teachers confront while integrating educational technology in the classroom. In conclusion, learning theories are intended to assist instructors in understanding the processes and circumstances that enable learning and, as a result, to provide assistance in structuring activities and settings that best support learning. On the other side, ID enables us to ensure that students learn efficiently by developing high-quality learning materials that take into account students' strengths and shortcomings. As a result, teaching and learning can be more effective in attaining predetermined goals. That's all from me. Thanks a bunch and have a nice day! -nurul Salam and greetings all!
This week, we did not have a tutorial class; instead, we were assigned projects to complete. Dr. Fariza left us with two videos, one on the use of e-portfolios in education and the other on the use of augmented reality in education. How to establish an e-portfolio using Weebly is covered in the first video, as well as the types of pages that should be included in the website in the second video (Home, About Me, Educational Blog, Reflection, Assignments and MISC). In the previous week, we had already learned how to create a Weebly website. As a result, we already have our own ideas and a plan for how we want our website to be designed. As an example, Dr. Fariza demonstrated an e-portfolio that had been produced by prior students in the very first video she showed us. There is one student who has kept her e-portfolio up to date to the present day. Hence, I believe that e-portfolios are extremely beneficial in helping us create a better understanding of ourselves, not only as students, but also as people in general. Aside from that, it might serve as a platform for us to demonstrate our abilities while we are applying for a job. A brief introduction of augmented reality and its educational benefits was provided in the second film, on the other hand. After seeing the video, we learned how to design and develop our own AR for the group work, which we put into practice immediately. In layman's terms, augmented reality (AR) is a technology that allows individuals to superimpose digital content such as images, sounds, and text over a physical environment. The mobile game Pokemon Go is a notable example of augmented reality technology that can be classified as such. When the Pokemon Go game made it possible to interact with Pokémon that were superimposed on the world via a smartphone screen, it garnered a lot of interest in 2016, if I’m not mistaken.. Among the benefits that have been taken through the past empirical studies are:
As a result, teachers can improve classroom experiences, teach new skills, inspire student minds, and motivate students to pursue new academic interests by utilizing the engagement and experimentation that AR technology provides. I believe it has the potential to draw kids' attention and boost their participation in any activities taking place in the classroom, particularly for students with special needs. That's all from me. It was decided that we would watch three films that Dr. Fariza had uploaded to her YouTube account for today's session, so we did that. The videos demonstrate how to create a website using the Weebly platform. It is possible to construct and publish our own website using Weebly. In the past, I attempted to create a website using Weebly, but was unable to complete the project. It was taking an inordinate amount of time to edit the website. At the time, I blamed the website, but afterwards discovered that the problem could have been caused by my laptop, as my other friends did not have any issues to the same extent as I did. At the same time, I found the Weebly platform to be difficult to navigate. Perhaps this was due to the fact that I was a newbie and was unfamiliar with the features. The only website that I have at the moment is Blogger. My opinion of Weebly has shifted as a result of watching Dr. Fariza's videos. It is extremely user-friendly, with straightforward editing tools and visually appealing features. Dr. Fariza's explanation was very clear, and it was simple for me to follow the stages one by one as she explained them. I'm really looking forward to see the completed outcome once I get my own Weebly website up and running. As a result of my experiences, I have come to recognize the necessity of learning and developing our skills, particularly in the context of technology, given that we are now living in a digital world. We must train and get familiar with the world of technology from this point on, and this is particularly vital for educators. As a result, teachers can take advantage of technological advances to attain new levels of efficiency, apply valuable digital tools to extend learning opportunities for students, and boost student support and participation. That's all from me. Thanks a bunch and have a nice day! -nurul Salam and greetings all!
Our first tutoring session with Dr. Fariza took place today. We were instructed to identify ourselves in the telegram group with our own picture a few days before our first meeting, which we did a few days before the meeting. In class, we learned about the "Concepts of Technology," which are the fundamental concepts of technology. At first, we came up with our own interpretations of learning and technology, before Dr. Fariza went into greater detail about it. In the presentation, there were five different components of what learning entails that were discussed in detail.
We used to associate technology with electronics and the internet when we heard the word. Now, when we hear the word, we think of something completely different. However, the best concept, or to put it another way, technology, is anything that makes one's job easier, be it a piece of paper or a computer. There are five domains in educational technology that we need to keep in mind at all times:
In order to attain the objectives or aims, each domain must go through its own set of steps or processes. So many factors must be taken into consideration before any ideas or plans can be implemented in the classroom. After learning about those five domains, it has made it easier for me to put the knowledge and information that I have gained to use in order to produce and improve the effectiveness and significance of teaching and learning sessions in the future. That's all from me. Thanks a bunch and have a nice day! -nurul |
